How Selling Works — Step by Step

1. Register & Verify

Create your account, upload SA ID and proof of address for FICA verification. Companies also need a CIPC certificate.

2. List Your Vehicle

Upload photos, enter make/model/year/mileage, describe the condition, and set your reserve price. Takes under 10 minutes.

3. Auction Runs

Our admin team reviews and publishes your listing. Verified buyers bid in real-time. Anti-sniping protection ensures fair bidding.

4. Get Paid

Buyer pays within 72 hours. We handle collection and release. Your settlement is processed within 7 business days.

Choose Your Auction Type

Reserve Auction

Set a hidden minimum price. If bidding doesn't reach your reserve, you can accept the highest bid or relist. Most popular option.

No-Reserve Auction

Vehicle sells to the highest bidder regardless of price. Generates maximum excitement and bid activity. Best for quick sales.

Hybrid (Auction + Buy Now)

Combine an auction with a Buy Now price. Buyers can bid or purchase instantly. Maximises your chances of selling.

Understanding Reserve Prices

The reserve price is the minimum amount you're willing to accept for your vehicle. It is hidden from buyers — they only know that a reserve exists, not the amount.

If bidding meets or exceeds the reserve:

The vehicle is sold to the highest bidder. A release record is created and the buyer has 72 hours to pay.

If bidding doesn't reach the reserve:

You have two options: Accept the highest bid at the lower price, or Pass in (reject all bids) and relist the vehicle.

Tip: Setting a realistic reserve price based on current market values leads to more competitive bidding and faster sales. An unrealistic reserve may result in no bids.

Frequently Asked Questions

Private sellers: SA ID or passport, proof of address (dated within 3 months), and a selfie with your ID.
Dealers/Companies: All of the above plus your CIPC company registration certificate and optionally a SARS tax clearance certificate.

Once your listing is approved and the auction starts, it typically runs for 3-7 days. After the auction closes, the buyer has 72 hours to pay. Settlement is processed within 7 business days of vehicle collection. Total: approximately 2-3 weeks from listing to payment.

No. The buyer pays the commission, not the seller. Your proceeds are the full hammer price minus no deductions. The only seller costs are the listing fee (first 5 listings are free) and an optional featured listing fee.

Buyers must have a confirmed deposit before bidding. If a buyer wins but doesn't pay within 72 hours (+ 24h grace period), their deposit is forfeited and a 20% cancellation fee is charged to them. Your vehicle is automatically relisted at no extra cost. Buyers who forfeit 3 times are permanently suspended.

After the buyer pays, we generate a release note with a QR verification code. The buyer (or their authorised collector) presents this at the collection point. Our staff verifies the QR code, captures the collector's ID and signature, and records the handover. You receive a notification when the vehicle has been collected.

Yes. Dealers can upload a CSV file with all their vehicle data at /my/vendor/bulk-import. The CSV template includes columns for make, model, variant, year, body type, fuel type, transmission, mileage, province, VIN, reserve price, and start price. Hundreds of vehicles can be imported in one upload.

Yes. All vehicles are sold voetstoots (as-is) in accordance with South African common law, as modified by Section 55 of the Consumer Protection Act. Buyers acknowledge this before they can place bids. However, sellers are expected to provide accurate condition descriptions and disclose known defects — misrepresentation may result in account suspension.
